Mike grew up in Augusta, Georgia and is a 1987 graduate of Emory University in Atlanta, earning a B.A. in Psychology and a B.A. in Philosophy. He then proceeded to Emory University School of Law, earning his J.D. in 1990.

Other than a five-year stretch from 1995-2000, Mike has worked at CMA since his graduation from law school and became a partner in 2002. His other work experience consists of working as a litigation associate at an insurance defense firm defending automobile accident lawsuits. Mike is the Managing Partner of the firm and oversees the production portion of CMA.
Mike has been a member of the Georgia State Bar since 1990 and is admitted to practice in all Georgia courts and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. He is also an HFMA member.
Melissa is a native of South Hill, Virginia and a 1996 graduate of the College of William and Mary, where she received her B.A. in Psychology. She received her law degree cum laude from Regent University School of Law in 1999.
Melissa has been with CMA since 2001 and became a partner in 2013. She focuses on provider denials and works closely with the firm’s denial specialists to recover denied and stalled provider claims.
Melissa is a member of the Virginia State Bar and the State Bar of Georgia. She is also a member of the Health Law Section of the State Bar of Georgia and an HFMA member.
Susan is a native of Americus, Georgia and earned a B.S. in Psychology in 1991, an M.S. in Social Administration in 1993 from Georgia Southwestern State University, and a doctorate in counseling psychology from the University of Sarasota in 2005.
Since 2000, Susan has overseen the Client Services Department at CMA. Susan strives to ensure a seamless transfer of information between clients and the firm, from the management of initial set up and data transfers to customized statistical reporting. Prior to joining CMA, she was the Dean of Students and Director of Student Development at American InterContinental University and a Counselor at Middle Flint Behavioral Health Care.
Susan is a member of HFMA, with the firm also holding HFMA membership and sponsorships in several states.
Elizabeth is a native New Yorker and grew up in Chicago. She earned a B.S. in Communications from Illinois State University in Normal, IL.
Elizabeth is CMA’s Senior Director Business Development, responsible for driving all new client business for the firm. She is also responsible for representing CMA, cultivating relationships and generating education and awareness among healthcare associations’ membership organizations.
Prior to joining CMA, Elizabeth served in several senior sales and business development roles with healthcare information technology companies and a professional networking organization exclusively for the C-Suite of the leading health systems.
Specifically, Elizabeth was Senior Director Network Development for Cureatr, a physician founded SaaS-based clinical communications company. Subsequently, Elizabeth joined Vocera as a Senior Director Strategic & National Accounts, a large clinical communications company. She also spent several years managing C-Suite relationships for The Health Management Academy and corporate partnerships for McKesson.
Elizabeth is an active member of HFMA.
